Discount Armageddon by Seanan McGuire
This LIVE Lunch Review was filled with chills, thrills, and a few surprises! Ok, I had to abort for a really silly reason (to anyone but me) but what had happened was...😂 I am working on the next project in my vampire and werewolf Dark World series, AND the next installment is written in first person. As is Discount Armageddon, which the author wrote in SUPERB fashion! Seriously, it was so good I included a text shot from the book 😂
Soooo, I decided to halt the reading of DA so it wouldn't influence my creative mind in ways that might work against me during my own project development 😂🤓 BUT, I must say Discount Armageddon gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️...for the first forty pages!
BONUS Review 👀
Lake of the Dead by Andre Bjerke, translated from Norwegian and written/published in 1942...Couldn't put it DOWN. How do you take a dark subject, write it in mild manonered 1942 style, AND frighten (figuratively speaking, of course) your very engaged audience? Like this author...whose name I may have butchered in the video 🥴
Yeah, I finished this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ finisher in a few hours and LOVED the story. I was pleasantly surprised to read the author dark premise:
Bjørn Werner, a young scholar from Oslo, ignored the old superstitions and bought the cabin as a place to read and work in quiet...
And give it teeth!! 👀🫵 Must read.
Post Script, I mentioned the book An Exceptional View of Life in the Video...I just think it's the best 🤓 Also, a quick note to the reader about this shorter and hopefully sweet review: Yeah, it's not as in-depth as some of my previous releases as I am finishing up a project that I am very excited about! The Healing Pool will be launched on April 20th. Stay tuned... 🤗
